​ ​​John Currier is a west slope native with family roots in Grand Valley agriculture. He has 40 years of experience in Colorado in both the public and private sectors in water rights analysis and engineering, multiparty settlement negotiations and water policy development. Presently, he is the sole proprietor of Currier Water Consultants, LLC. Prior to reentering private practice in 2021, he served eleven years as Chief Engineer for the Colorado River District where he was responsible for managing the technical activities of the District, as well as helping guide the District’s intrastate and interstate policy. Prior to his service with the River District, he served as a water resources engineering consultant in the private sector where he provided services to a broad spectrum of Colorado clients including the state, municipalities, special districts, ski areas, industrial water users, farmers and ranchers, conservancy districts and development interests.
